Post Crossing Meeting

WHO: Kel and anyone who wants to discuss The Crossing
WHAT: Second 'Town Meeting'
WHERE: Oasis
WHEN: A bit after the crossing, when everyone has time to calm down and breathe.
WARNINGS Talks of death, definitely, mention of blood and wounds, other CWs to be added.

[Kel has seen people scatter around and, despite still acting like a foolish fool around Mari and Sunny... he is doing his best to try to coordinate things as he can. Armed with a set bright of pink pencils, definitely merchandise of the Sweetheart brand from his place, he prepared a whole wall in one of the shelters to work as a rough chalkboard and, written on it, there are his few observations from staying behind.

- Nothing beside the wraiths did show up. What are we running from?
- Ferryman honest or not?
- When you don't pay the tool, you may still lose memories
- Our bodies can get hurt as if we're still alive.
- Discussion About Crossing from both sides?

It's not much but try to get stuff to appear properly on a blank wall when all you have is a bunch of pencils that don't even write that well. He's trying, though, he really is. A message is sent out to everyone after he's done gathering enough pillows for everyone to sit in, inviting people to come and share experiences, and... that's all. He did, at least, prepare water for everyone to drink.... it's somethin, right?

"Why, thank you for coming! Take a seat, mingle and let's get down to businesses!"

OOC: This is a mingle thread. Feel free to interact with each other and have discussions about things. The 'chalkboard' will be updated if anything is brought up to Kel's attention, I'll leave an open post for that.

[A list of supplies was an excellent idea! One of the items was unfamiliar to him though and he curiously turned to Sunny.]

What are wind up flashlights?

[Soo Won thankfully wasn’t much of a stranger to Sunny. He still wasn’t sure if he would call them frends but…

When the other approached, it wasn’t as much of a shock as it would have been otherwise. Someone wanted to talk to him? Oh, but it was about what he had written on the wall. The teen’s sole gaze lingered back to what he had written, then back to Soo Won.

How to explain…?

Sunny first started up miming how the flashlight worked - one hand holding it while the other cranked the wind-up portion - but… that wasn’t effective with nothing to demonstrate on but sheer air.

His ears burned in mild embarrassment as he pulled out his notebook, making a sketch of said flashlight. Along with a note accompanying the drawing.]

This part moves. [A small arrow drawn to the lever-like stick poking out of the main body.] So you don’t need batteries.

I love playing with pre modern characters being introduced to technology!

[Soo Won had grown rather fond of the quiet teen and he patiently let him explain in his own way. He intently studied Sunny's drawing as if it was the blueprint of a new invention.]

I see! So it's a device that creates light by turning this part?

[It was a fascinating design for a lantern! Was there a mechanism with a flint inside the device to start the fire? He was tempted to ask Sunny to draw the inside of the flashlight as well so he could see how it worked but there was another curiosity first.]

What are batteries?

[Sunny appreciated that about Soo Won - the other’s patience, his silent strength and resolve. Even as it took time for Sunny to gather all of his thoughts and show off his drawing, the other didn’t grow impatient.

The teen nodded. Right, flashlights make light. He wasn’t sure if it was the friction of certain gears or what (Sunny wasn’t that knowledgeable on the device) but it worked, and that was what counted.

Still… ‘what are batteries’?]

They… they’re small. One side holds a positive charge and the other negative, so you have to make sure to put them in the right way. It’s… like a mini generator. They have energy in them.

[Another drawing this time accompanied his explanation which… he hoped was correct. Sunny suddenly found himself wishing someone more knowledgeable was nearby to ask.]

[Soo Won studied the new drawing just as intently as the last one.]

A device that holds energy?

[His eyes sparkled with curiosity. He didn't fully understand what Sunny meant by a positive and negative charge but he was still fascinated none the less. Finding someone more knowledgeable might be a good idea so Sunny is spared from Soo Won's endless questions.]
