There is no advance warning from The Ferryman this time. There is nothing to draw your attention towards the message that appears on your device, whatever it may be, except perhaps the expectation that it should be appearing soon.

Whether you think to check for it or you simply stumble upon it, the words are there just as before:]

A toll to be levied for safe passage

envision a place of comfort and safety
a haven from the wants and ills of life
be it for a moment or for a lifetime

offer it to The Ferryman

Hmm… that’s true~ Any idea what happens to those memories though? You don’t keep them, but it’s not like they can just be gone either.

My theory is they're used to create the light we use to go through the Crossing with Ferryman-san. I don't know what happens to them afterward, though!

Huh. That would make sense. You can’t make something out of nothing. If that’s the case though… maybe there really is nothing left of those memories after all.

[If the Ferryman had to take that toll and convert it into something else… then it’s possible the memory gets burned up, much like any other type of fuel.]

I’m just guessing though! I don’t really know how the rules work around here~

That could be the case. If so, I wonder if different memories have different burn rates!

[Logically, a larger or more detailed memory should have more to it, right? Or maybe a more emotional one? But maybe there isn't much logic when it comes to burning memories for magic light.]

Think the Ferryman would actually answer that question? They seem to sidestep quite a bit, but this is apparent to someone’s safety, right?
