[The Crossing is coming again.

There is no advance warning from The Ferryman this time. There is nothing to draw your attention towards the message that appears on your device, whatever it may be, except perhaps the expectation that it should be appearing soon.

Whether you think to check for it or you simply stumble upon it, the words are there just as before:]

A toll to be levied for safe passage
from the desert to ǝɹǝɥʍǝsʅǝ

envision a place of comfort and safety
a haven from the wants and ills of life
be it for a moment or for a lifetime

offer it to The Ferryman
and let go

It means you'll lose whatever memory you give to Ferryman-san.

You can lose memories? Like having amnesia?

[Yashiro didn’t enjoy the thought of losing anything to be honest. All of her memories were precious to her… although she supposed some of the negative ones were up for debate…]

Like permanent amnesia. I think it's part of moving on from our lives or something like that. [Admittedly Nagito is one of the ones who's more resistant to the idea of moving on from everything.] If you don't go with Ferryman-san, you don't have to give up the memory they ask for, but then you get attacked by wraiths and you might lose other memories anyway.

[Well that didn’t sound pleasant at all… you either were forced to give up a memory for guaranteed safety or you had the potential of keeping it and getting hurt and losing it anyways…]

Do we have to leave? Couldn’t we all just stay here? And aren’t the Wraiths peaceful? Why would they attack us?

Staying isn't an option. As for the wraiths, we're still theorizing, but there's no doubt they attack. I saw the damage myself after the first Crossing.
