[Kel has seen people scatter around and, despite still acting like a foolish fool around Mari and Sunny... he is doing his best to try to coordinate things as he can. Armed with a set bright of pink pencils, definitely merchandise of the Sweetheart brand from his place, he prepared a whole wall in one of the shelters to work as a rough chalkboard and, written on it, there are his few observations from staying behind.

- Nothing beside the wraiths did show up. What are we running from?
- Ferryman honest or not?
- When you don't pay the tool, you may still lose memories
- Our bodies can get hurt as if we're still alive.
- Discussion About Crossing from both sides?

It's not much but try to get stuff to appear properly on a blank wall when all you have is a bunch of pencils that don't even write that well. He's trying, though, he really is. A message is sent out to everyone after he's done gathering enough pillows for everyone to sit in, inviting people to come and share experiences, and... that's all. He did, at least, prepare water for everyone to drink.... it's somethin, right?

"Why, thank you for coming! Take a seat, mingle and let's get down to businesses!"

OOC: This is a mingle thread. Feel free to interact with each other and have discussions about things. The 'chalkboard' will be updated if anything is brought up to Kel's attention, I'll leave an open post for that.

[Makoto was mostly just hanging out at the meeting, quietly reading everyone's notes when he hears Nagito's words and nearly trips. You can't just say things like that, Nagito!]

[Nagito looks over, surprised.] Did I do something wrong? [This he says not because he knows exactly what Makoto is objecting to but because that is often Nagito's default assumption about his own actions.]

[The surprise on Nagito's face almost made him let it go, the almost innocent confusion at his actions.]

...You can't just say things like that! What will people think?!

[He is sure that Kel wouldn't misjudge Nagito by these words but that still didn't stop the panic Makoto felt at those words. It wasn't what it sounded like!]

Just...be careful with what you say, okay?

Ah, I see. I thought it would be a reassuring comparison, to know it could be worse, but maybe not? [So he shouldn't talk about his experience with solving murders. Alright, he can remember that!]

[Makoto sighs as he listens to Nagito's reasoning. He wasn't wrong per say but...]

That could work but also open a can worms for you. Like why you were investigating murders. What will you say if they ask?

That it would have been much less hopeful to have murders happen around me and not try to investigate them!

[Airtight logic! It's not technically incorrect!]

[Makoto hesitates as he thinks of what to say. He isn't quite sure that is correct.]

I mean...I guess that works. But what if they want to know more?

Then I'd say that these things just happen to me sometimes. Which is true! [Solving murders probably isn't the most difficult thing to believe has happened to him, if he tries to put everything that's happened to him in some sort of list.]

[Makoto looks at Nagito silently for a moment before sighing and smiling sheepishly. Maybe he was worrying about nothing. Nagito would be fine!]

That's true I guess... Good. Just be careful. Others can misunderstand what you're saying and they might not react well to it. ...I'm probably worrying over nothing.

[After all, there's so many good people here.]

I'll be sure not to mention it again! [It isn't as if Makoto ordered him not to, but he'll treat it like one.] I've never been very good at knowing what will upset people before I open my mouth anyway, so it's good to have guidelines!

[Makoto had noticed that himself when he had watched Nagito in the simulation. Still...]

It's okay if you make mistakes, you know. If you mess up, you can always fix it.

[Makoto smiles at Nagito before continuing.]

Besides, I think you've grown. You handle yourself better now.

[Better than before isn't saying a lot but it's something!]

[Nagito blinks, looking suddenly shy.] Do you think so? [His instinct is to deny it, but it catches him off-guard enough that the denial doesn't immediately fly out of his mouth. He would certainly like to handle himself better.]

[Makoto nods and offers a warm smile to Nagito.]

Yep! I think the way you've handled yourself with most people here has improved! Especially with Sunny-kun! Would past Komaeda-kun let Sunny-kun get close to you like this?

[Makoto beams at his friend and closes his eyes before he finishes.]

I know it's been hard but...I'm proud of you, Komaeda-kun.

[Nagito flushes red. He feels kind of dizzy.] Ah. [He can't even manage any attempts at denial. Makoto is proud of him! It makes being dead worth it.] Um. Thank you.

[Makoto beams up at his friend, so happy that he didn't reject his words. They are making progress! But when he notices that Nagito is turning red, he frowns in concern and touches his arm.]

Are you okay? You're turning red.

Of course! [Though now he is hyper focused on Makoto touching him again. Really, being dead is a bounty of riches when it comes to physical contact.] Getting praise from Naegi-sama, who wouldn't be okay? Better than okay!

[Makoto frowns in concern and looks around for a chair for him to sit on. When he finds one, he gently leads Nagito towards one.]

You should probably sit down. We don't want you to faint in exertion.

[Nagito lets Makoto lead him to a chair without complaint. The opposite, really.]

I guess even after I'm dead my body's stamina is poor. [Though that might also have to do with what he expects his stamina to be. He sits down.]

[When Makoto sees Nagito sit down, he sighs in relief and frowns in concern.]

Good. Do you need some water or something? I'm sure I could get you some.

[He doesn't quite understand why Nagito is still reacting this way when he is dead but Makoto isn't going to question whether it makes sense. He's too concerned about his friend for that.]

You don't need to go to the trouble. Really, I'm fine! [Nagito beams at him, which may not be the most reassuring expression at the moment, but he at least doesn't look like he's about to pass out.]

[Makoto looks at his friend seriously before sighing.]

If you're sure...

[Looking back at the board where he had been reading, he looks back at Nagito.]

I'm going to go back to that board but if you need me for anything, just let me know! Take care of yourself okay?

[With one last squeeze on Nagito's shoulder, he turns to walk away.]

Of course! [But really he would rather not force Makoto to fuss over him, as much as he enjoys it. He'll just stay here and settle down and then rejoin everyone momentarily.]
