Post Crossing Meeting

WHEN: A bit after the crossing, when everyone has time to calm down and breathe.

[Kel has seen people scatter around and, despite still acting like a foolish fool around Mari and Sunny... he is doing his best to try to coordinate things as he can. Armed with a set bright of pink pencils, definitely merchandise of the Sweetheart brand from his place, he prepared a whole wall in one of the shelters to work as a rough chalkboard and, written on it, there are his few observations from staying behind.

- Nothing beside the wraiths did show up. What are we running from?
- Ferryman honest or not?
- When you don't pay the tool, you may still lose memories
- Our bodies can get hurt as if we're still alive.
- Discussion About Crossing from both sides?

It's not much but try to get stuff to appear properly on a blank wall when all you have is a bunch of pencils that don't even write that well. He's trying, though, he really is. A message is sent out to everyone after he's done gathering enough pillows for everyone to sit in, inviting people to come and share experiences, and... that's all. He did, at least, prepare water for everyone to drink.... it's somethin, right?

"Why, thank you for coming! Take a seat, mingle and let's get down to businesses!"

OOC: This is a mingle thread. Feel free to interact with each other and have discussions about things. The 'chalkboard' will be updated if anything is brought up to Kel's attention, I'll leave an open post for that.

Just something that's been bothering me is all...

[She glanced over at where Kel was, before turning back to Nagito.]

I don't know how well you know Kel...

[Nagito met Kel pretty early on. Kel said he wanted to be friends. Kel asked him to keep an eye on Sunny and Mari during the Crossing.

We've spoken here several times, but of course I don't know him like you do. I know you, he, and Sunny-kun are all from the same place. It's something to do with him, then?

[Mari nodded, wringing her hands anxiously.]

I don't know if he's told you yet, but he has an older brother...

[Mari wasn't going to go into all the personal details about her relationship with Hero... right now she had to focus on the fact that Kel might not remember him.]

When we all reached the end of the river, and arrived here... I met back up with Kel to make sure he was ok. His clothes were ripped, and he looked as if he had been injured but he said he was fine. The more we talked however, it seemed like something was missing.

[She tried to push down the anxiety, the worry that he had forgotten something so integral to their childhood... forgotten a literal person who had been with him since birth...]

He said he didn't remember Hero... [Her voice was barely a whisper, as if she couldn't believe the possibility.] Ah, Hero's his older brother...

That's a pretty serious memory to lose. [And in exchange for keeping the memory of someone you hate, too, though Nagito was under the impression that's not why Kel decided on taking the route he did.] Though he can't miss the memory now that he's forgotten it, right? So it might be worse for you to experience than him. [Does that make Mari feel any better? He has no idea how to make people feel better. He's not sure why he's trying.]

And it's good information for the rest of us to have. Not that Kel-kun lost his memory of his brother, specifically, but--that we should weigh the difference between what we're guaranteed to lose with Ferryman-san and what we might lose without them.

[There, that's much more clean and logical. He's much better at working with logic.]

That... makes sense...

[Did Mari seem more relieved? Not really but she did see logic in what Nagito said... it's just that... the fact that her and Sunny could remember Hero and Kel couldn't was just tragic to her in a way. Ultimately though it wasn't something that Nagito himself could relate to in terms of the three of their shared bonds. Him and Makoto probably could though...]

But... it seems like no matter what we do... we are guaranteed to lose some memory...

Maybe if you could cross without Ferryman-san perfectly, without the wraiths touching you, you wouldn't lose anything. [Nobody has done that yet.] But, ah, that seems as if it would be very difficult.

Very true... we should probably try to come up with a plan to cross unharmed...

[Although that was rather hard to achieve as they didn't know exactly what they were up against...]

Do you have any ideas?

Better armor than our clothes provide. And weapons. [Nagito says it so immediately it's clear he's thought about this already. For the moment, it doesn't occur to him that it might be alarming that he's been thinking about weapons.] But Ferryman-san doesn't seem keen on us having weapons, and I'm not sure how much armor we might need against something like a wraith.

Hmm... the light repels them right? What about something made from that same light then? Maybe it would be enough to keep the Wraiths at bay? Not to harm them... just... keep them away if that makes sense?

[She wasn't sure if she was thinking right... but Nagito did have some valid points. She shouldn't be surprised that he had already thought about it.]

I've been wondering if that light isn't made of memories. It seemed like that was the case during the Crossing, at least; it might apply to all of it. [Which means maybe there is a way to make it, though it might be difficult.] We'd need something to keep the light in, in that case. I'm not sure a normal flashlight or lantern would work.

Hmm... that's true...

[Mari wondered if any of those previously might have found or made something to help contain the light. But then again wouldn't that mean that they would have to lose more memories? It was all too much to think about right now...]

Well I guess that's a problem for another time. For now though...

[She smiled at Nagito brightly.]
