Post Crossing Meeting

WHEN: A bit after the crossing, when everyone has time to calm down and breathe.

[Kel has seen people scatter around and, despite still acting like a foolish fool around Mari and Sunny... he is doing his best to try to coordinate things as he can. Armed with a set bright of pink pencils, definitely merchandise of the Sweetheart brand from his place, he prepared a whole wall in one of the shelters to work as a rough chalkboard and, written on it, there are his few observations from staying behind.

- Nothing beside the wraiths did show up. What are we running from?
- Ferryman honest or not?
- When you don't pay the tool, you may still lose memories
- Our bodies can get hurt as if we're still alive.
- Discussion About Crossing from both sides?

It's not much but try to get stuff to appear properly on a blank wall when all you have is a bunch of pencils that don't even write that well. He's trying, though, he really is. A message is sent out to everyone after he's done gathering enough pillows for everyone to sit in, inviting people to come and share experiences, and... that's all. He did, at least, prepare water for everyone to drink.... it's somethin, right?

"Why, thank you for coming! Take a seat, mingle and let's get down to businesses!"

OOC: This is a mingle thread. Feel free to interact with each other and have discussions about things. The 'chalkboard' will be updated if anything is brought up to Kel's attention, I'll leave an open post for that.

[He approaches Nagito keeping his voice low. Sunny is right there and he's not ready to talk with him about... his current situation.]

Well... I think I forgot something from my arrival to... now.

[It's barely a whisper, really, as he leans as well against the wall.]

I didn't pay anything to the Ferryman, but I am under the impression I forgot someone important. Which... means I lost that memory at some point. The walk without the Ferryman being the most plausible explanation.

[Nagito hums thoughtfully. He'll drop his voice, but only because Kel has; it wouldn't occur to him otherwise.] Have you asked Ferryman-san about it? Or the others who traveled the same way?

I'm planning to address it with others, actually. And I do not trust the Ferryman. They seemed eager to leave, like something was coming after us or I don't even know...

[He crossed his arms, looking at the other.]

The only thing that chased us was those things. Once the lantern was gone and the light distant, they just started to turn, from what I've seen nothing seems to suggest anything was coming after us or pushing the Ferryman away.

[A pause.]

I... am going to ask Sunny, though. Kind of. Have I ever mentioned anyone named Hero to you?

No, not that I remember. Of course, you might not want to trust my poor memory. [On the other hand, Kel actually might not want to trust Nagito's automatic self-deprecation.] As for Ferryman-san, it's less trusting their answer blindly and more seeing what the answer would be at all.

Did you feel as if you had to go to the River, before we all separated? I had a feeling like that.

that's something. I think I upset Mari when I didn't know who they were... [He is trusting the others,, at least for now. He wants to. It may end up biting him later, though...] Mh? What do you mean by that?

Oh, yes. I totally did. My entire body was telling me to move, to go..

You can't catch anyone in a contradiction if you don't let them speak. The information may even be correct, regardless of their intentions. So it's better to know than not to know. It's probably worth asking about that urge as well.

While you're right, I aldo prefer to... learn through actions as well.

Oh. Actually asking about the 'need' to cross would be a good idea. Want to be the one going there? I already have to ask them why we bleed like we're alive and why someone still took memories from us. If it wasn't them.

I guess that wouldn't be too much trouble. [Maybe he could ask a question or two himself rather than just sending other people off as often as he can convince them.] I'll ask about it after the meeting.

[Yeah, Kel is just trying not to bring TOO MANY questions in. Even if he doesn't trsut the ferryman, being 'too much' doesn't seem like a good idea.]

[It's no secret how much he cares about Sunny and Mari, but he is also starting to care about others too. Even if the two siblings still are on the very top of his priorities and will probably always be.]

Honestly, it's not so bad if we look at this all like some big murder mistery from the afterlife or something. Or a video game.

Oh, this is much less tense than solving a murder. That probably makes it easier! [He's trying to be encouraging. He sounds encouraging.]

Is... it? Did you end up solving a murder during your life, buddy? That sounds intense. And I GUESS- we're all dead already [he hates that] so it's not much like solving a murder but... figuring out what the heck is going on down here.

This is not the afterlife I expected.

Only a few! [Nagito waves his hands dismissively; really, don't focus on that part, he isn't that important or special!] This is more interesting than just wandering around being dead, don't you think?

That's still a few more than normal people usually solve! What were you? An investigator? A crime CSI person? [Nagito, you can't drop personal lore and ask a teen not to question things.] I guess? I'd rather not be dead- and I'd rather not see my buddies being dead either but I can't say it's boring at least.

Oh, no, nothing so important. It was just a situation I ended up in, that's all. [This was really not supposed to be a big deal!]

... you had to be quite the interesting life, huh? I don't know, man, people don't usually get involved in murder mysteries and all... if that was the case.

Ah, well, these sort of things just happen to me, I guess. It's different from my life having been important... [It wasn't important.]

Everyone's life is important. That being said... man. It sounds like you had a rollercoaster of a life.

[Makoto was mostly just hanging out at the meeting, quietly reading everyone's notes when he hears Nagito's words and nearly trips. You can't just say things like that, Nagito!]

[Nagito looks over, surprised.] Did I do something wrong? [This he says not because he knows exactly what Makoto is objecting to but because that is often Nagito's default assumption about his own actions.]

[The surprise on Nagito's face almost made him let it go, the almost innocent confusion at his actions.]

...You can't just say things like that! What will people think?!

[He is sure that Kel wouldn't misjudge Nagito by these words but that still didn't stop the panic Makoto felt at those words. It wasn't what it sounded like!]

Just...be careful with what you say, okay?

Ah, I see. I thought it would be a reassuring comparison, to know it could be worse, but maybe not? [So he shouldn't talk about his experience with solving murders. Alright, he can remember that!]

That could work but also open a can worms for you. Like why you were investigating murders. What will you say if they ask?

That it would have been much less hopeful to have murders happen around me and not try to investigate them!
